About Taiz Masks

The people of TAIZ Masks create uplifting, expansive experiences and art as a platform for entertainment, life enhancement and portraiture. We are available for events, workshops, private sessions and commissions.

Founder Kephart Taiz began life casting 10 years ago using conventional techniques to create facial templates for the creation of custom fitted masks. Eventually he developed an efficient and unique method for capturing the human face, Life Cast Systems. This method allowed him to cast many faces easily and that became the primary inspiration for his art and custom portraits. Living most of his life in the Sonoran desert he is influenced by the raw, wild and organic nature of his surroundings and couples this with his sleek design aesthetic. His masks reflect his love and respect for indigenous cultures and the primordial beauty of collective celebration and dance.

An inventor, artist and musician, he has led workshops for a diverse audience ranging from juvenile-detention rehabilitation to CEO retreats at the world-class resort Canyon Ranch. His passion is in creating dynamic tools for meditation, creative stimulation and multi-sensory experiences.
